My experience at CTFTC, to this day is still what I regard as the most important part of my flying career. I was incredibly lucky to have top quality instructors at CTFTC, starting with Martin Naude, who did my PPL instruction, I then completed spinning with Andre Groenewald, had Roald Martins send me solo and Pablo Fraga who did my PPL test. Once completing my PPL, I completed all my CPL subjects while still at CTFTC, had Colin Gray test me for my Night Rating and then completed some hour building. I have not completed an instructors rating yet, but when I do have the time to, I would definitely want to complete it with CTFTC. My biggest thanks goes to Martin Naude, who taught me how to fly and set an extremely high standard. I will always be proud to tell anyone I meet, that I was once a student of CTFTC!

I trained from scratch (intro flight in 2007) up to commercial license in 2012, instructors in 2013 up to ATPL in 2017, all at CTFTC. Great training and the opportunity to push and thrive within the company as an instructor launched my career on an ideal path where I got to enjoy my flying, make good connections and learn the skills I needed to succeed as a pilot.

I received nothing short of exceptional training at CTFTC. From the top down, the centre was run like a tight ship, however at the right time and place, there was always good humour and a light atmosphere. From my very first phone call to my would-be instructor Andre Groenewald, asking if he could accommodate my very specific and tight-schedule training requirements as I had out-of-country work commitments, he pulled out all the stops and catered terrifically to my training needs like it was no issue at all. I found the aircraft at all times meticulously maintained, with very few snags if any. I found that to be attributed to the influence of a very fastidious CEO, Findlay Smith. Safety, I found was always number one, and never compromised. Again, some strong tools in my aviation toolbox that I continually draw from in my present flying career.

My flying Career started at CTFTC in 2013 in the beautiful city of Cape Town. As a student at the Flight school, I enjoyed every part of my flight training. The flight school was very welcoming, and every staff member from the front desk to the instructors were always willing to go the extra mile in providing the best service available. I’ve had the chance to fly around the World but Cape Town will always be one of the favourite cities, and thanks to CTFTC it made it even more special. For every individual wanting to kick start their flight training, I highly recommend CTFTC

I completed all my training with CTFTC and worked as a flight instructor for 2 years. CTFTC has one of the highest standards in training which, if taken to heart, sets an incredible foundation for a pilot to grow from and is widely recognized in the industry

A great atmosphere and good learning structure. Was able to complete my CPL from first flight ever to CPL/IR in 11 months. Hard work and lots of flying fun at Cape Winelands Airport!!

My experience at CTFTC taught me the importance of being properly prepared before my flight, knowing my flow check and my aircraft before taking to the skies. Proper planning prevents poor performance.

My time at CTFTC was brilliant, it set me up well for my career and the training was excellent and very thorough!

One thing that I’ll always take with me from CTFTC was my time during my instructors rating and working as an instructor. Doing that course was a real eye opener for me. I learnt so much more about flying as well as a lot more about myself as a person.
